About Us

Our story, our values, and the people behind Old Park Organics

Our Story

Old Park Organics began in 2015 when we, the Tims family, gave up dairy farming and decided to transform our conventional farm into something more sustainable and meaningful. After years of conventional farming, we were increasingly concerned about the impact of industrialized agriculture on soil health, animal welfare, and human nutrition.

We started by becoming members of the Pasture For Life Association, which was a logical step in the journey to a more regenerative way of farming. The dairy herd was largely sold, and the remaining cows converted to a spring calving, single-suckled beef herd. In 2019, we began the conversion to full organic production, and refined our grazing practices, learning from both traditional wisdom and cutting-edge regenerative agriculture research.

Today, our entire 360-acre farm is certified organic and managed according to regenerative principles, with a thriving herd of cattle at its heart. What began as a family's desire to farm differently has grown into a mission: to produce the most nutritious, ethically raised beef possible while demonstrating that farming can heal rather than harm our planet.

Our Farm

Old Park Farm and Kiln Farm are nestled in the rolling hills of the Brackley, Northamptonshire countryside, spanning 360 acres of permanent pasture, hay meadows, woodland, and thriving hedgerows. Our landscape is a testament to our regenerative approach:

  • Diverse pastures with numerous species of grasses, legumes, and herbs
  • 16 kilometres of old and new hedgerows providing wildlife corridors and windbreaks
  • 5 acres of woodland converting to silvopasture with pigs
  • Holistically managed mob grazing increasing the numbers of bats, moths and pollinators

Our Values

Respect for Nature

We believe in working with natural systems rather than against them. Our farming practices are designed to enhance the environment, not deplete it. We see ourselves as stewards of the land, responsible for leaving it better than we found it.

Animal Welfare

We're committed to giving our animals the best possible life. This means allowing them to express their natural behaviors, eat their natural diet, and live with minimal stress. We believe that respect for our animals translates to better quality beef and a clearer conscience.

Transparency

We believe consumers have a right to know exactly how their food is produced. We maintain open communication about our practices and welcome visitors to the farm to see firsthand how we raise our cattle and manage our land.

Community

We're proud to be part of a growing movement of farmers, consumers, and advocates working toward a more sustainable food system. We actively share knowledge with other farmers and engage with our local community through farm tours, workshops, and educational events.
